welcome to Salesforce.com :)

I am officially an intern at Salesforce.com, and I am really excited about that.  The skills that I think will be displayed first are my communication skills and pro skills. They will be displayed first because when it comes to the meet and greet the way I present myself will show them that I am professional and I can communicate well.  My first impression is what will say the most about my working skills and how I will be in corporate office setting.  When I start my internship I hope that the environment that I will be working in is a positive place because if it’s positive then everything will be better. I work better under a management that is willing to cooperate with me and know that if something needs to be done I will do it to the best of my ability. Also, to the best of their expectations.  The most things that I am nervous about is the fact of not really fitting. I’m an intern and I don’t want people to only know me as an intern there. I want to feel like an employee due to the fact that I will be working there for 6months.  I am also nervous about the way I come off to people I don’t want to come off intimidating and overly confident.  I plan to stand out in my internship by just making my self-known as an outgoing individual that people can go to about anything.  I think I know what i will be doing after my internship. For whatever reason I may not get hired on I will end up moving to Los Angeles and going back to school to get my degree in Journalism and communications.  If I do get hired on I will end up moving with my aunt while my mom moves to Los Angeles.

Happy New Years :)

Now that it is 2012, I feel that alot of things will and have to change when it comes to me. The most important things that will change it has to be my attitude. Even though I already see the changes in me. I feel that its time to put the changes of my attitude to use. With this year it comes change. My mom is planning on moving to Los Angeles in July mid August. So I plan on moving to if things won"t work out here then that will be my new home. I look back on the things that has happen in the year 2011 alot of things went on that was good and bad. I feel that things will get better in this year due to the fact that I will be graduating from the Year Up Program. So with that  I am ready for the New Year :)

A Weeks Vacation

When it comes to my winter break, it seems shorter than usual. I swear it was here then it was over. I was so used to having two weeks off when I was in high school then in college a month off then in the Year Up program just a week seemed unusual. When I first thought about the week vacation I was like I have to make sure I do as much as possible, but after I truly thought about it  I just needed time to myself to spend with my family and just enjoy the time I have with them. Plus on top of that make time to do my homework and make sure that is all done. Now that the break is over I feel that I have accomplished a lot. I feel that over my break my time management skills truly kicked right on in just in time for the break.

My Family

Every year my family has our annual Christmas party. This year we had ours on December 19th. It’s a time when my families comes together and celebrate each other. Everyone comes together to eat, dance and all around have a good time. With cameras flashing and people laughing the life of the party never seems to stop. This tradition has been going on for many, many years. I don’t remember when we have never had one.  It’s a way for my family to spend time with each other talking, gossiping and other crazy thing. When I look about and see all my family in one room it gives me the sense that this is all I have and nothing can replace this. My mom always told me that when you don’t have anything else you have your family. I can truly say that this is true.  But it’s also not just family we do have family friends that we consider to be me family come too. It’s like we never see them as friends just extended family.

Are you ready for your internship?

I feel that a person that is internship ready shows the quality of how the present themselves. Being internship ready has a lot to do with what people my judge you by. You have to be responsible, reliable, dependable, respectful and accountable for the things you are doing or have done. With a positive and outgoing attitude shows that your approachable in any situation good or bad. The way I will demonstrate internship readiness is by showing them what I have to offer. First impressions are lasting impressions. Showing them what I have to offer may tell them how I will be throughout the rest of my internship. The changes I will be making to project my internship readiness is just to show the positive attitude. I know sometimes my attitude may come off a way of being negative but I truly don’t mean it. I have to think before I react in certain situations so it will show what I am capable of.  I also need to work on thinking before I say something because it may come off as when I’m not trying to be or don’t mean to be.

Can You Work in My shoes

When it comes to working at Party city I realize that I  am a people person. When working there to me it was a great experience and a bad one all together. It showed me that people think they can get away with saying anything just because they are the customers. My job duties there was cashier, back stock and floor leader. Basically my duties what to keep everything under control in the store. When it comes to working in customers service you have to be a people person. You have to have and great personality. But when you get the frustrated customers you have to show that your not affected by what is going on and that they are always right. No matter what the situation is you have to understand that you can not get an attitude with the customer because it can cost you your job.  But on the other hand this shows you how mature you can be in any situation.

Prosecutor: Suspected gang member killed Oakland teen in cold blood

Research a current event online and compose a blog post that briefly describes the event as well as your reaction to or opinion on what has occurred.

Monday prosecutors told jurors that there is enough sufficient evident for them to convict a suspected gang member for the death of 17 year old Ditiyan Franklin Jr.  The suspect, 22 year old Michael Heartsman killed the victim in the 2400 block of Richie St at about 2:25pm on May 25 of this year as a part of a running gang feud. Prosecutors say that Heartsman coldly executed the victim by shooting him in the arm and finishing him off by shooting him in the side.
In my reactions to the article, I knew the victim  and I feel that it shouldn’t have taken so long to figure out if the suspect had did it or not due to the phone records  that they had placing him in the area of the shooting. Now a day’s people think that violence is the only answer and that’s their way of ending all feuds against people.  To me how the media portrayed the incident was in a positive way. They asked for the people in the area if they had any information about the shooting to speak up. Usually when I hear about the other shootings that happen in Oakland, they can never find the suspect or if they do it takes forever to find them guilty due to the lack of information or evidence.
