I Can Only Define Myself

For the past 19 years, I have become the person I would never thought I would be. Growing up in an urban neighborhood then moving to a San Leandro suburban neighborhood has made me the person I am. My personality defines who I truly am. I feel that my personality is the strongest part of me. Yeah, my attitudes can get the best of me but overall I’m a very outgoing person that isn’t afraid to speak my mind. Growing up sports was a huge part of my life and still is even though I hardly play anymore. I went from watching sports to playing them in a matter of years. I feel that when it comes to playing sports, it’s my way to relieve stress that I have been building up.  The sports bring out my competitive side which is the best part. With my passion for sports, I also have a passion for poetry. Poetry makes my day when I can just sit down and write out my thoughts in a very beautiful and soulful way.  My family encouraging words help me through the rough times in my life from school to social life and even deaths of close family and friends. With the motivation that my family gives me, it will help me reach my dreams one day. As my grandmother always said, “When life gives you lemons make lemonade.” This quote is basically how I live everyday life. Just make the best of your situation and everything will be okay.
